Our weekend in Ireland June 2011

Well what a weekend we had!

Starting off on Friday, Lesley McCourt and I heading to Southern Counties Championship Show.
We had with us Harvey & Kane (GSP), Eula & Isla. Delighted with our results under judge Roly Cross.
Harvey first up in Open Dog, winning a 2nd place behind the CC winner.
Next up was Eula and her first time in the Limit Bitch class a lovely 3rd place for her, and then Isla in Open bitch, again pleasing us with a 4th place.

We stayed to watch the Gundog Group and have a good natter with everyone.

From there we travelled to the ferry port at Fishguard in Wales, and on our way to Ireland. The ferry left Fishguard at 2.45am!!!!

Driving straight from Rosslare ferry port in Ireland to our first show near Fermoy. I have to say the show was held in the most posh cattle market I have ever seen. It was a blistering hot day, with both dogs and us feeling the heat. Shame the show was held on concrete rather than grass, but what a wonderful day! You can see our home from home in the background in the photos, our new green tent!!!

Harvey won the 'Green Star' and 'Best of Breed'
Eula won the bitch 'Green Star' and 'Reserve Best of Breed'
Isla was 2nd in the Open Class
The icing on the cake, was Harvey winning Group 8 (Ireland is on the FCI system and has 10 groups)

Kane also delighted us (GSP) by winning the 'Reserve Green Star'

We left Fermoy, very happy and very sunburnt! Headed off to our Bed & Breakfast at Blarney.

What a little find our B&B was. A lovely house, with super gounds to run the dogs on.

Once the dogs had been fed and charged about, Lesley and I head out for dinner. A lovely award winning pub, super grub and a cold glass of wine!

The next morning we head off to our second show. This was the Cork All Breed Championship Show, on Sunday 5th June 2011. A lovely big grass venue with lots of space to pitch our tent. This in itself caused us a few giggles! It has to be seen to be beleived, Lesley and I putting up a tent in the high winds!!!!!! But we did finally pitch our temporary home right next to our ring, but more practice needed in the putting up of tents!

Again Harvey won the dog Green Star and BOB, Eula won the bitch Green Star and Reserve Best of Breed
Isla and Kane were 2nd in thier Open Classes.
